A Prestigious International School
Why families worldwide choose Canada for secondary school
Canada is the leading destination for international secondary school students in the English-speaking world, ahead of the UK and Australia, according to IRCC 2024 data. For families seeking a private school in Canada, Canada offers the OSSD: a credential accepted by universities across Canada, the US, the UK, and Australia at the same time. One diploma. Unlimited global options.
Over 900,000 international students held valid Canadian study permits in 2024, the highest figure on record. USCA Academy is a Ministry-registered, DLI-accredited international school near Toronto. We are built specifically for international families navigating a new country, a new curriculum, and, in many cases, a new language.

STUDY PERMIT PROCESS
How the Canadian study permit process works at USCA
USCA Academy is a Designated Learning Institution, commonly known as a DLI, registered with IRCC. This is the most important credential an international school in Canada can hold. Without it, a school cannot legally enrol students on Canadian study permits.
For the official IRCC study permit process, see the IRCC Study Permit Guide and the IRCC DLI List.
- Apply and get accepted. Submit transcripts and complete an English placement test. Receive your Letter of Acceptance within 5 business days.
- Apply for your study permit. Use USCA's DLI number on your IRCC application. Submit biometrics and supporting documents as required by your home country.
- Arrange your arrival. USCA coordinates airport pickup, homestay placement, and medical insurance before you land in Canada.

What is the OSSD and why does it open every door?
The Ontario Secondary School Diploma is the standard graduation credential issued by the Ontario Ministry of Education. It is accepted by every Canadian university, by UCAS in the UK, and by most universities in the United States and Australia. Students who earn the OSSD through USCA Academy apply to university through OUAC on exactly the same footing as any other Ontario graduate.
Students arriving from any national curriculum, including IB, IGCSE, CBSE, and WAEC, have their previous transcripts assessed for equivalent Ontario credit. You do not repeat subjects you have already passed.

Why International Families Choose USCA Academy in Canada
Canada’s international school market has grown quickly. Families have more options than they did five years ago. Here is what makes USCA the right choice for families comparing top international schools in Canada
- Credit Transfer from Any Curriculum. Students arriving from India (CBSE or ISC), Nigeria (WAEC or NECO), Pakistan (Matric or FSc), the Caribbean (CSEC or CAPE), or any IB or IGCSE school have their transcripts assessed at no extra charge. Most international students entering USCA do not lose a year.
- Small Classes, Not 30 Students to One Teacher. Class sizes run from 5 to 15 students with a 10 to 1 student-teacher ratio. Every international student gets direct teacher attention in every class.
- Five Intakes Per Year, Not One September Start. Immigration timelines are unpredictable. USCA's five annual intakes mean there is always an entry point within a few months, not a year-long wait after your study permit arrives.
- ESL Support Built In. Students who need English support begin in ESL classes and move into credit-bearing academic courses within months. Five ESL levels, no external assessment required for admission.
- University Preparation That Actually Prepares Students. The university preparation program at USCA is designed for students applying to competitive Ontario faculties. OUAC guidance, essay support, and scholarship search assistance are included.
- Transparent, All-Inclusive Fees. CAD 14,800 per year for OSSD. CAD 14,800 per year for Elementary. Books included. No hidden material charges. Families comparing private schools in Canada will find no surprises in USCA's fee structure.
- DLI Status for International Students. USCA's DLI registration means international students can legally obtain a Canadian study permit and begin their education without bureaucratic delay. According to IRCC, only DLI-registered schools can legally accept international students on study permits.
- Boarding and Homestay Support. Full homestay, guardianship, and boarding school in Canada support for students under 18 arriving without family.
