Frequently Asked Questions
USCA Academy is a private international school in Mississauga, Ontario, registered and inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education. Founded in 2016, it serves students from over 25 countries through three programmes: Elementary School (Grades 1 to 8), the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (Grades 9 to 12), and a University Preparation Programme for mature students aged 19 to 22. The school is located at 977 Pantera Drive, Mississauga, 1.2 km from the University of Toronto Mississauga Campus.
The OSSD (Ontario Secondary School Diploma) is the standard secondary graduation credential issued by the Ontario Ministry of Education. For students at any international school in Mississauga or Ontario, the OSSD provides direct access to university applications across Canada, the US, the UK, and Australia. At USCA Academy, students can earn the OSSD through full credit programmes or through Prior Learning Assessment credit transfer from any national curriculum.
Yes. USCA Academy is a DLI-registered international school. International students use the school’s Letter of Acceptance to apply for a Canadian study permit from IRCC. Without DLI status, a private school cannot legally host international students on study permits. USCA Academy holds this status and issues Letters of Acceptance promptly after enrolment confirmation.
USCA Academy stands apart from other international schools in Mississauga through five specific advantages: class sizes of 5 to 15 students with a 10:1 student-teacher ratio, five intake semesters per year rather than a single September start, Prior Learning Assessment credit transfer from any curriculum worldwide, transparent all-inclusive fees with no hidden material charges, and a location 1.2 km from the University of Toronto Mississauga Campus. See uscaacademy.com/about-usca/ for a full overview.
No. IELTS is not a mandatory admission requirement at USCA Academy. The school conducts its own internal English and Mathematics placement test to place students at the right level. If a student needs IELTS later for a specific university application, on-campus IELTS preparation is available. USCA is an official IELTS British Council test partner in Canada.
Yes. USCA Academy’s Prior Learning Assessment evaluates transcripts from any educational system, including CBSE, ISC, IGCSE, IB, WAEC, and others. Students receive equivalent Ontario high school credits for relevant completed coursework. Most students at this international school do not restart from Grade 9.
At this international school Mississauga parents choose for value and transparency: Secondary School (Grades 9 to 12): CAD $16,800 per year, all books included. Elementary School (Grades 1 to 8): CAD $14,800 per year, all books included. There are no hidden material fees. Accommodation, meal plans, and medical insurance are optional and separately priced.
Processing times from IRCC typically range from 15 days to 3 months depending on country of origin. Because USCA Academy, as an international school in Mississauga, offers five intakes per year, a visa processing delay does not cost a student an entire year of study. The next intake is always within a few months.
USCA Academy graduates have been accepted to the University of Toronto (including a CAD $100,000 President’s Scholarship recipient), University of Waterloo, McMaster University, Queen’s University, University of British Columbia, Dalhousie University, University of Alberta, Western University, York University, Toronto Metropolitan University, University of Windsor, Trent University, and University of Guelph, among others. The university acceptance rate is close to 100% for students who complete the full OSSD programme at this prestigious international school.
Yes. USCA Academy helps international students find homestay placements with vetted Canadian families near the campus. Airport pickup is arranged on arrival. Students under 18 receive full guardianship support throughout their stay in Canada.
